Welcome to Langar Rifle Club, we are a small friendly club with access to an indoor 25 yard range 7 days a week.

We support multiple disciplines and regularly shoot at other ranges, including Beckingham, Bisley, Kingsbury and Thorpe cloud when available.

Who we are…

Langar Rifle Club (LRC) is a friendly Home Office approved community amateur sports club founded in 1999. Situated on the edge of Langar village in Nottinghamshire our own 25 yard indoor range provides a comfortable and above all safe environment for small bore target rifle, sports rifle and air rifle/pistol shooting.

What we do…

Our core activity at the range is prone (lying on the ground) target shooting using .22 calibre rimfire rifles. Many of our members however also take part in other shooting disciplines, mainly using fullbore, 7.62mm calibre, target rifles at distances from 300 yards to 1100 yards. We are proud to count amongst our members those who have represented Nottinghamshire and also England and Great Britain in international competitions.

What is Target Rifle Shooting…

Target shooting is a sport which primarily involves a competitor, a single shot rifle and paper target. Stringent rules ensure it is one of the safest sports in the world. Targets can be shot both indoor and outdoor at various distances from 10 yards to 1100 yards It is a precision sport which involves careful body and eye co-ordination. Outdoor shooting requires an ability to read and respond to the natural conditions around you, wind speed/direction, topography of the range and even air pressure.

LRC actively encourages people to consider target shooting as a hobby and welcomes enquiries from those interested in participating in such a fantastic and rewarding sport.

Membership of Langar Rifle Club…

By becoming a member of Langar RC, you will benefit from being part of one of the most socially and competitively strong clubs in the UK as well as directly supporting the future of shooting in Nottinghamshire. Langar Rifle Club actively encourages people to consider target rifle shooting and we would welcome any questions from those who would be interested in participating in such a fantastic sport.

Some of the benefits from joining Langar Rifle Club are, strong support from its members and a warm family like atmosphere. Langar boasts a number of very fine shots and very fine people who are able to coach and improve your ability, no matter what level you are at currently. We also have .22 indoor range facilities up to 25 yards. We welcome people from all ages (12+ for .22 calibre and 14+ for 7.62mm), sexes and ability.

LRC has capacity to accept a limited number of probationary members each year and we welcome enquiries from people of all ages, sexes and ability, subject to a minimum age of 12yrs.

Please note that we are not able to accept new probationary members until Autumn 2017 due to demand for places on our current training programme.
